I have recently retired from the hospitality industry after 40 plus years (Barooga 32 years & Kyabram 9 years) and over my time have been involved with 20-25 major building projects totally an estimated $35M.

My last project in 2024 was with TACT Constructions a project of over $3.5M. This was a major project for the club and one that was handled professionally and seamlessly by TACT Constructions.

Tact Constructions were the successful tenderer for a refurbishment project at the Kyabram Club with a contract value of $2.7M, and work commenced on site in early 2024.

Renovation projects of this nature, in an occupied and trading hospitality venue, in challenging for any building contractor. It is our experience that the key to successful outcomes of projects of this nature, is a collaborative approach between the contractor, the client and the Architect, which is always underpinned by diligent communication.

This was exactly how the project was managed by Tact Constructions from day one. Their overall site management throughout was of a very high standard, well planned, well organised, and always a safe work environment.

This project has its fair share of surprises, all of which were competently managed by Tact, and their proactive response to providing a solution to the challenge.

The biggest challenge in this project was the client’s last-minute decision to increase the scope of the project to include a $900K variation for complete refurbishment of their commercial kitchen.

Tact did incredibly well to incorporate these additional works into the overall construction program, without fuss, and surprisingly with only minimal impact to the previous completion date.

The finished product was a very high standard throughout. Their experience, foresight, and attention to detail was evident when the keys were handed over to the client, and the very few but enevitable teething problems, were promptly dealt with by Tact.

All matters pertaining to administration of the requirements of building contract were attended to, professionally, collaboratively and with trusted transparency.

This project was successfully delivered by Tact, to the approval of the client, and Abeo, as the principal consulting Architects.

Based on the success of this project, we have no hesitation whatsoever, in considering them for any future project form our office, or recommend them to other parties.

From the competitive tender stage though to completion, the entire process was well managed & executed. It was very important to us we had good vision and access to the build, and that’s exactly what we were provided with.

You could immediately tell Gavin was on the same page as us from the get go, understanding our goals & objectives to achieve an authentic looking Country style home, complete with detached shed with a Large opening customised Barn door.

Upon completion the team handed over a Turn key custom designed Home that utilises all areas of the property, with extensive exposed concrete & fully irrigated turf now complementing our homes finish.

Construction was completed on budget and on time.
